Title:On Yau's uniformization conjecture

Abstract:Yau's uniformization conjecture states that any complete, non-compact Kahler manifold with positive bisectional curvature is bi-holomorphic to C^n. A weaker form of the conjecture asserts the same conclusion under the stronger hypothesis of positive sectional curvature. I will describe some recent joint work with Vamsi Pingali and Harish Seshadri on this weaker form of the conjecture for Kahler surfaces (ie. In dimension two).
