Title：Some consequences of the Golod–Shafarevich theorem
Abstract：In this survey, we shall begin by recalling the Golod-Shafarevich theorem and its consequence for the Hilbert class field tower problem.
We shall then present other applications of this result in arithmetic, some of which are very recent.
