Title: Contact topology of isolated singularities and applications
Abstract: Links of isolated singularities are naturally contact manifolds. There are many interactions between contact topology of the link and algebro-geometric properties of the singularity. I will present two results in complex analysis and geometry, where contact topology can help. Namely, the solution to the generalized Bishop problem in higher dimensions and the study of Kahler compactification of C^n. These are based on a joint work with Hanlong Fang, Xiaojun Huang and Wanke Yin and a joint work with Chi Li.
