Title：Motivic degree-shifting operations on the cohomology of arithmetic groups
Abstract：In a recent development, Venkatesh et al. have introduced motivic degree-shifting operations on the cohomology of arithmetic groups to explain the spread of degrees for Hecke eigensystems. This talk aims to present an overview of the l-adic degree shifting operations with an emphasis on the example of the trivial eigensystem attached to division algebras over number fields. We also discuss several interesting problems and open questions in the subject.
