Title:Schubert cycles and holomorphic isometry
Abstract:There is a duality between non-compact and compact Hermitian symmetric spaces in both Lie-theoretic and differential-geometric senses. Via the Borel embedding, a non-compact Hermitian symmetric space can be realized as an open subset of its compact dual. A guiding philosophy is to exploit the geometry of the compact side to study problems on the non-compact side. Under this principle, I will present an ongoing project concerning the rigidity problem of certain (singular) Schubert cycles and its applications to holomorphic isometries between bounded symmetric domains and more general Hodge domains.
