Title:Self-Consistent Semi-Relativistic Models for Charged Particles: From Dirac to Pauli and Vlasov
Abstract:Self-consistent models for charged particles are effective equations of the mean field limit of many-body systems of charged particles interacting via an electromagnetic force. Another interpretation is the self-interaction of charged particles by the electromagnetic field generated by them, which is not without issues in the fully relativistic setting. Nevertheless, starting from the Dirac-Maxwell equation for charged fermions one can derive a hierarchy of models both in the semi-relativistic and semi-classical limit. In this talk I will give an overview on this hierarchy and the known results.
