讲座主题:Universal Holomorphic Maps with Slow Growth
讲座摘要: This series of lectures offers a modest exploration of the interplay between universal holomorphic functions and their growth rates, connecting classical ideas with some recent developments in complex analysis.
In Lecture 1, we revisit the concept of universal holomorphic functions, introduced by Birkhoff about a century ago. These functions, known for their intriguing approximation properties, have played a significant role in the study of linear chaos. We will also briefly introduce some basic aspects of Nevanlinna theory, a foundational framework for understanding the growth and distribution of meromorphic functions, which will be useful in later discussions.
Lecture 2 touches on some recent progress in the field. We will share a solution to an open problem raised by Dinh and Sibony, and then discuss an ongoing research direction: the study of minimal growth rates for universal holomorphic maps. This topic sits at the intersection of Nevanlinna theory, dynamical systems, and Oka geometry, and while some progress has been made, many questions remain open, inviting further investigation.
Together, these lectures aim to provide a gentle introduction to universal holomorphic maps, from their historical origins to some recent developments, while acknowledging the many challenges and opportunities that still lie ahead in this area of research.
