主讲人简介:Shou-Wu Zhang obtained his PhD from Columbia University in 1991. He is currently a Eugene Higgins Professor at Princeton University. In 2011, he was elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and in 2016, he became a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society. His research focuses mainly on number theory, algebraic geometry, and arithmetic geometry. He has had a significant impact in areas such as elliptic curves, L-functions, Heegner points, and the Gross-Zagier formula.
讲座主题:Gross—Zagier formula: its past and future
讲座摘要: In 1986, Benedict Gross and Dan Zagier proved a formula to relate the heights of Heegner's points and the central derivatives of L-functions for elliptic curves. I will explain the brief history of the Gross— Zagier formula, its consequences, and recent developments.
