Title:Kummer construction and hyper-Kummer construction
Abstract:
Talk 1:
In this first talk, I first review the classical Kummer construction that associates a K3 surface with an abelian surface, and present various interesting relations between these two surfaces. Then I will give an introduction to hyper-Kähler manifolds with examples.
Talk 2:
In this second talk, I will explain the 6-dimensional analog of the classical Kummer construction, namely, the hyper-Kummer construction, which associates in a canonical way a hyper-Kähler manifold of K3^[3]-type with a hyper-Kähler 6-fold of Kummer type. Various relations between these two hyper-Kähler manifolds will be presented. Time permitting, I will conclude by interesting applications of the hyper-Kummer construction to the study of algebraic cyclese, e.g. Beauville conjecture, Hodge conjecture, and Kimura-O'Sullivan conjecture.
