主讲人: Diego Córdoba, Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas

主讲人简介:Diego Córdoba is a Professor at the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMat), part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and the Scientific Director of the Severo Ochoa program for the periods 2016-2019 and 2020-2023. He earned his PhD in Mathematics from Princeton University in 1998. His academic career includes positions at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton (Member), the University of Chicago (L. E. Dickson Instructor), and Princeton University (Assistant Professor).

His research focuses on Partial Differential Equations, Analysis, and Fluid Mechanics. This is an area that is particularly interesting for the interaction of experimental methods, numerical simulations, and rigorous mathematical proofs, an area in which Diego's contributions stand out.

He was an invited Speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2018). His recent honors include the ERC Advanced Grant (2018-2024), the Margarita Salas Medal from CSIC (2022), and the Spanish National Research Prize Julio Rey Pastor'(2023).

报告题目:Singularities for the free boundary Euler equations

摘要:In this talk, we will discuss the existence of finite-time singularities for the free boundary incompressible Euler equations (also known in some particular scenarios as the water wave problem).
