主讲人:北京师范大学 张宏宝

主讲人简介:Professor Hongbao Zhang is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Beijing Normal University (BNU). He completed his undergraduate studies at BNU, obtained his MSc from Peking University, and received his PhD through a joint program involving BNU, Perimeter Institute, and University of Waterloo in Canada. He has conducted postdoctoral research at Crete Center for Theoretical Physics in Greece, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel as well as The International Solvay Institutes in Belgium as a FWO Fellow. His current research interests focus on the application of numerical relativity in AdS/CFT correspondence and astrophysics, and the covariant phase space formalism in field theories including gravity.

报告题目:Background subtraction and higher derivative correction to Kerr-AdS black hole thermodynamics

报告摘要:In this talk, I will first argue that the background subtraction method is not only much simpler, but also as applicable as the holographic renormalization method in Euclidean approach to black hole thermodynamics. Then I will show our result on the higher derivative correction to Kerr-AdS black hole thermodynamics via the background subtraction method. I will conclude my talk with some potential future directions.


主讲人:中国科学院大学 田雨

主讲人简介:Yu Tian is a Professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). He received his Bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University and obtained his PhD from the School of Physics at Peking University. He has successively conducted research and teaching at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Beijing Institute of Technology, and UCAS, and was a long-term visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

In recent years, his research focuses on gravity and black hole theories, gravity/gauge duality, and gravitational waves. He has published over 100 research papers, including 6 in Physical Review Letters. His collaborative work proving the holographic duality of entropy production in non-equilibrium processes was awarded the Honorable Mention in the Gravity Research Foundation Essay Competition.

报告题目:Computation meets gravitation: from anti-de Sitter to de Sitter

报告摘要:Dynamics related to gravity and its applications, including but not limited to gravitational waves, are important in various fields in theoretical physics, which inevitably need numerics. This talk will focus on the formalisms and applications of numerical relativity in asymptotic anti-de Sitter space-times (related to AdS/CFT) and asymptotic de Sitter space-times.
