Title: Uniformity for Common Preperiodic Points
Abstract: We prove that for two complex polynomials of degree d least 2, either they have the same set of preperiodic points, or the number of common preperiodic points is uniformly bounded by a constant depending only on d. This can be viewed as an unlikely intersection phenomenon in complex dynamics.
In this talk, I will focus on how arithmetic methods and dynamical ideas can be combined to study problems in complex dynamics, and explain some of the main ideas behind the proof. This is joint work with Jit Wu Yap.
