Title: How to reinterpret 1+1 in category theory?

Abstract:

We will take a short break on the series of “category theory in physics”, and have a discussion session on some fundamental perspectives in category. In this session, we want to show that “studying the relationship is more important than studying just the objects.” We will use “1+1” as an example and reinterpret this equation through “universal property”. Universal property is at the heart of category theory, which basically states that: “if you know what a thing looks like from all perspectives in a unique way, you know what it is.”
