Biography:Xin Li is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Central Florida where he served as the chair of the department of mathematics from 2014 to 2024. His research is specialized in the theory of approximation and its applications in scientific computing and machine learning. Dr. Xin Li obtained his BS and MS from Zhejiang University in 1983 and 1986. He obtained his PhD in 1989 from University of South Florida.
Title: Some new results on Kaczmarz Algorithm
Abstract: Randomized Kaczmarz algorithm is one of the most popular algorithms for solving large scale systems of linear equations. I will report on some recent results about the asymptotic behavior of the Kaczmarz iterates when noise presents in the given matrix and vector.
