Biography：
Dr. Fulin Chen obtained his PhD from Xiamen University in 2012. Now he is an Associate Professor in Xiamen University. His research interest is the theory of infinite dimensional Lie algebras as well as the connections with vertex algebras and quantum algebras.
Abstract:
In the setting of algebraic geometry, formal schemes and formal groups are intensively studied in the literature. Motivated by applications to representation theory of Lie groups, we study similar objects, called formal manifolds and formal Lie groups, in the setting of differential geometry. In this talk, we will give a brief introduction to the general theory of formal manifolds and formal Lie groups, which is based on a joint work with Binyong Sun and Chuyun Wang.
