Title:The nilpotency of v1 in the K-theory of Z/pn

Abstract:

Joint work with Achim Krause and Thomas Nikolaus establishes a new method for computing the K-groups of Z/pn based on prismatic envelopes. I will explain the history of this problem, how our method works, and how to use it to compute the degree of nilpotence of v1 in the K-theory of Z/pn.
