Title: The simplicity of the class group of the p-cyclotomic field
Abstract: In this lecture we briefly review developments in the cyclotomic theory from Kummer to nowadays. Then we derive three consequences from the truth of the Kummer-Vandiver Conjecture, including the structure of the p-primary part of the class group of the maximal subreal field of the p-th cyclotomic field and the strong Fermat equation.
